Alleged San Jose Murder/Robbery Suspect Arrested in Mexico on Tip to Fugitive Watch

Fugitive Watch is pleased to announce that alleged San Jose murder suspect Hector Flores Arias was arrested in Mexico Sunday (4/18/15) after a tipster called the Fugitive Watch “Most Wanted” program

Arias was arrested by Mexican police in San Jose de Gracia, a town east of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco where he had been hiding out. He was being sought since 2009 when he fled after allegedly killing Juan Mendoza.

San Jose police detectives and the FBI coordinated with Mexican police and arrested Arias Sunday. Police say that Arias bit two Mexican police officers and tried attacking another officer in a struggle during his arrest.

He was transported to the San Jose Police Department where he tried to escape by running through a parking lot but was immediately re-captured.

This is the 2nd Murder/Robbery fugitive captured in two days after a tipster call to Fugitive Watch.

On 4/16/15, US Marshals arrested Fugitive Christina Navarro in Saint George, Utah. Navarro was wanted in Fresno, California in connection with a robbery/murder.

This is another great example of Fugitive Watch’s ability to bring together law enforcement, social media and the public into an effective crime fighting tool.

Fugitive Watch was founded in 1992 by two San Jose police officers in their off-duty time to help reduce the dangers of “Chance Encounters” law enforcement officers have with fugitives that have resulted so many injuries and deaths officers.

Fugitive Watch features fugitives from across the nation and been credited by law enforcement with over 2,000 captures and solving of crimes.

Fugitive Watch started as a local TV show on the local cable station and has expanded to a TV show broadcast on Comcast Cable to over 3 million homes in northern California, a local newspaper, website, Facebook page, You Tube and podcasts.

Fugitive Watch receives no tax money and is only supported by business and private sponsorship.
