The Henderson Police Released body cam (2), Critical Incident Community Briefing For Officer-Involved Shooting #1 of 2020

On February 29th, at approximately 12:10 p.m., the City of Henderson Police Department responded to the 800 block of Viento Del Montagna in reference to reports of a violent domestic battery involving a weapon.

Officers arrived on scene and encountered an adult male subject armed with a knife in front of the residence. Officers deployed a 40mm less-lethal exact impact sponge round which was ineffective. The male continued to aggress officers resulting in an officer-involved shooting. Officers immediately began life-saving measures, however, the subject succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office pending notification of the next of kin.

No officers were injured during this incident.

As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
