2 Arrested Over Weekend in San Mateo Robberies and Assault

Police in Pacifica are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred Wednesday at a Walgreens. Officers with the Pacifica Police Department responded Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. to the Walgreens in the 500 block of Palmetto Avenue on a report of an attempted robbery.

Police said the suspect entered the store, confronted a pharmacist and handed the pharmacist a note demanding medication. The pharmacist told the suspect the pharmacist did not have access to the medication, and the suspect repeated his demands and threatened to shoot the pharmacist. No weapon was seen during the incident, and the suspect eventually left the business on foot. He was last seen walking west on West Manor Drive.

There were no reported injuries during the incident. The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern man, 20 to 30 years old, with curly black hair, a beard and a mustache.

He was wearing a blue baseball hat, a gray jacket and black pants. Police believe the suspect was involved in a similar incident at a pharmacy in Daly City later Wednesday night.
