A suspect was arrested a short time after he tried to rob a bank in Alameda on Saturday morning, police said. At about 11:20 a.m. on Saturday the suspect gave a note to a teller at the Chase Bank at 2270 Otis Dr. demanding cash but the teller walked away and activated a silent alarm, according to Alameda police Lt.
