Police arrested a man after he barricaded himself inside his Santa Rosa home for 40 minutes this morning. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Humboldt Street for a compliance check at 9:10 a.m. When police arrived, they saw a man in the backyard of the home.
They identified the man as Brad James Adams, a 23-year-old Santa Rosa man. Police said he fled into the house and refused to come out. Police set up a perimeter around the home and blocked off Humboldt Street.
A hostage negotiator then arrived to the home to talk to Adams, and a family member who was sleeping inside the home came out of the back door to talk with police officers. The family member told police that Adams was in the master bedroom hiding with two large dogs.
Police negotiated with Adams for 40 minutes before he came out of the back door.
He was arrested without incident for violation of probation, resisting or delaying arrest and booked in Sonoma County Jail.
