Police are investigating two separate carjackings in San Francisco on Saturday, both involving victims being threatened by guns. The first occurred around 10:15 a.m. near the corner of California and Broderick streets, according to police. A 37-year-old man was in his vehicle when a suspect approached him while pointing a gun at him and demanded that he get out of the car and hand over his wallet and cellphone.

The victim complied and the male suspect fled in the man’s vehicle, heading west on California Street, police said. The victim was uninjured, according to police. The second carjacking was reported at 7:07 p.m. in the 500 block of Madrid Street. A 77-year-old man was getting out of his vehicle when two suspects approached him and asked him for directions.

As the man was giving them directions, one of the suspects took the man’s keys and both suspects began attacking him. The pair also threatened him with a gun, although no gun was seen, police said. The suspects then got into the man’s car and fled south on Madrid Street, according to police.

One suspect was described as being 19 years old and the other as being between 16 and 17 years old. The victim suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, but refused medical attention, police said.
