Salvador Garcia Jr. Wanted for the Alleged Murder of His Baby’s Mother Karen Garcia

ID #18-97

The Colusa, California Police Department is seeking information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend, whose body was found in a Woodland parking lot after she was missing for several days.

Salvador Garcia Jr. was identified Jan.13 as a suspect in Karen Garcia’s death, one day before her body was found, the Colusa Police Department said.

Karen Garcia, 21, was found dead in her car in a Woodland Marshall’s parking lot. The Yolo County Coroner’s Office said Karen Garcia died from blunt force injuries to the head.

Family members reported Karen Garcia missing Jan. 8. She was supposed to attend a vigil that night for her sister, who was killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 near Woodland.

Karen Garcia was last seen in Colusa on the day of the vigil. She told a friend she was heading to Roseville or Vacaville to shop and get her mind off her sister’s death, according to police.

Salvador Garcia Jr. and Karen Garcia have lived together on and off and have a 2-year-old daughter, according to Colusa Police Chief Josh Fitch.
