Woman Injured in Saturday Dies of Her Injuries, Suspect at Large

A woman who was injured in a shooting late Saturday night in San Jose died of her injuries on Monday, according to police. On Saturday at 11:58 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 3100 block of Cadillac Drive.

Arriving officers found a woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead on Monday, police said. Her identity has not yet been released by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office. Her death is the sixth homicide in San Jose this year, police said. An investigation revealed that the woman was driving on Cadillac Drive with a man as her passenger.

The suspect shot at her, causing her vehicle to crash into several parked cars and a tree, police said. The passenger suffered injuries in the crash and received treatment. Police have not made any arrests in this case or identified any suspects. The motive and circumstances surrounding this homicide also remain under investigation, police said.
