Herbert Similton Arrested in Fairfield for Allegedly Brandishing Weapon

Fairfield police arrested a man for allegedly brandishing a firearm at construction workers Thursday. Police responded to a report of a possible residential burglary involving a firearm in the 1900 block of San Benito Street.

Police learned there was a disturbance between the resident of one house and the construction workers at a second residence. The resident retrieved a rifle from his home and walked to the front yard of the other residence, causing the workers to flee, police said. Police secured the area and the armed suspect left the house and was taken into custody.

Police recovered a firearm from inside the home that matched the description of the weapon described by the construction workers, police said.

Herbert Similton, 32, of Fairfield was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and brandishing a firearm, police said.
