Fernando Miramontez Identified as Teen Stabbed to Death in San Jose

A 17-year-old boy who died in a stabbing Thursday night in San Jose was identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office as Fernando Miramontez.

Officers responded at 11:58 p.m. to a stabbing in the 200 block of Sunset Avenue, according to police spokesman Sgt. Enrique Garcia. Miramontez was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a little while later.

Miramontez’s death marked the second homicide in just over 24 hours in San Jose, according to police reports. Wednesday evening a man was fatally shot in the 2500 block of Van Winkle Lane.

Officers responded to the call at 8:47 p.m. and found the victim had suffered at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
