Suspect Killed in Anchorage, Alaska Police Shootout

Anchorage, Alaska police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead late Wednesday night. The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Fred Meyer on Muldoon Road.

According to police, they were attempting to serve a felony warrant when the suspect attempted to elude police. Police say, that’s when officers pinned the vehicle and the suspect drew a gun and started shooting at officers multiple times. Officers returned fire and shot and killed the suspect.

The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. The identity of the suspect has not been released. The case has been given to the Office of Special Prosecution for review.

Crime scene investigators are still on the scene.
