Alameda Police Release Photos of Alleged Computer Thieves

ID #17-466

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who have stolen laptop computers from coffee shops in Alameda.

On Tuesday, police released surveillance video of the suspects responsible for the theft or attempted theft of laptops from patrons at multiple cafes in Alameda. Police said the suspects might be connected to similar thefts around the Bay Area. At 12:35 p.m. on Sept. 4, the suspects entered the Starbucks store at 2671 Blanding Ave. They were in the store for about five minutes before attempting but failing to steal a laptop, police said.

About 10 minutes later, the suspects were seen walking west on Central Avenue toward the Starbucks store at 1364 Park St. Once inside, they walked around the store for a few minutes before they each stole separate laptops and fled the store on foot, police said.

The first suspect was described as a black man who is believed to be 18 to 20 years old and was wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and red tennis shoes, police said.

The second suspect was described as a black man believed to be 18 to 20 years old who was wearing a black knit cap, blue shirt and baggy light-blue jeans, police said.

If you know the names of these suspects.
