Breaking News Update

Police have increased toll to at least 50 killed and 200 injured.

It is thought he killed at least 50 people when he opened fire at a music festival in Las Vegas.

Stephen Craig Paddock was killed inside a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

Police said the shooter was a “local individual” who was firing from his hotel room above the concert area.

He was killed after a police SWAT team blew the hotel door open and then shot him dead.

Inside the hotel room, police found numerous firearms.

It’s emerged Paddock, had lived on Babbling Brook Court in Mesquite, near Las Vegas since June 2016.

He was living in a retirement community and had no criminal record.

One eyewitness reported that a woman had warned people in a hotel that they were going to die 45 minutes before the shooting began.

Police later launched a hunt for the gunman’s roommate Marilou Danley who was later picked up by officers on the Las Vegas strip.

Crowds were enjoying the Route 91 Harvest country music festival when the shooter reportedly started spraying bullets from a hotel balcony.

As terrified revellers fled for their lives, officials received reports of an “active” gunman and patrol vehicles descended on the popular US Strip.

This is a developing story.
