A man carrying a gun and covering his face with a piece of cloth allegedly robbed a Chase Bank in Santa Rosa this afternoon, police said. At 3:44 p.m. a man went into the Chase Bank at 1301 Guerneville Road near the Coddingtown Mall.

Police said once inside an employee told him to remove the cloth before he went to see a teller and the man allegedly pulled a black handgun out of a paper bag. The man allegedly pointed the gun at the employee and demanded money. The alleged robber ran south from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police described the suspect as an unshaven white man, about 30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark baseball cap with a yellow brim and a design on the front of the cap.

The man was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket with designs on the back and front left side.

No one inside the bank was injured in the robbery.
