Jimmie Leonne Mallette Convicted Child Molester Sentenced to 36 years to Life in Prison

A 68-year-old man convicted of child molestation was sentenced to 36 years to life in prison in Napa County Superior Court on Tuesday morning, according to prosecutors.

Jimmie Leonne Mallette was convicted on July 21 of oral copulation with a child under 10, lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 14 and continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14.

Prosecutors said the case stemmed from Mallette’s actions with a boy who was between 5 and 7 at the time. A second victim also testified, as did Mallette, who argued that the sexual contact was initiated by the children.

During Mallette’s sentencing, a victim addressed the court and Deputy District Attorney Kecia Lind read statements from a prior victim and a family member.
