Danny Lawrence on Probation Arrested After Detectives Allegedly Discover Drug Paraphernalia, 2 Guns

A man on probation was arrested in San Jose earlier this month after detectives found him in possession of two semiautomatic firearms, Santa Clara police announced Friday. Police said detectives were conducting a probation search of Danny Lawrence in the 1400 block of Petal Way on March 20.

According to police, Lawrence’s grandmother opened the door when they knocked, however they spotted him walking from the garage door through the kitchen toward the bedrooms. He was detained, along with Robert McSherry and Irby Stainton, while detectives searched the residence.

Police said the search yielded a .22 rifle, a .357 Magnum revolver, multiple rounds of ammunition, multiple methamphetamine pipes and syringes, along with .05 grams of methamphetamine, five oxycodone pills, stolen checks and a stolen ID, and a pipe that had been filled with weights on one end.

The items were confiscated and Lawrence and McSherry, who were allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance, were arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail. Stainton was cited and released from the police building. Four victims, all Santa Clara residents, were contacted as a result of the recovered checks, mail and ID.
