Monterey Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Alleged Gang Associate in Soledad

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Thursday in Soledad after he was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and a firearm, sheriff’s officials said.

According to Monterey County sheriff’s officials, deputies served a search warrant at a residence located at 34761 Metz Road.

There, deputies contacted 22-year-old Armando Lopez, who is a suspected associate of the Norteno gang. Lopez was found to be in possession of an illegal rifle, a stolen, .38 caliber revolver and almost an ounce of heroin. He also possessed a usable amount of methamphetamine and drug sales paraphernalia, sheriff’s officials said.

Lopez was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal drug sales and guns.
