Suspects Remain at Large After San Francisco Shootings

Two people were injured in separate shootings that occurred in San Francisco on Friday and Saturday, police said.

Around 4:45 p.m. Friday, a 34-year-old man told police he was walking on Fitzgerald Avenue near Hawes Street in the Bayview District when he heard gunshots. The victim said he ran away from the scene and then felt pain in his leg. He was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound, but is expected to survive his injuries, according to police.

A second shooting victim walked into a hospital around 6 a.m. Saturday with a gunshot wound to his upper torso, police said. The victim, a 24-year-old man, did not provide details of the shooting, and police were still working to determine where it had occurred as of this morning. Police are also investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood.

Oswaldo Fuentes, a 21-year-old Fairfield resident, was shot in the 500 block of Green Street near Grant Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m., according to police. Fuentes was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been reported in any of the weekend’s shootings.
