STAFFORD, Texas – On October 13, police were monitoring an internet chat room for child predators. An officer posing online as a single mother with an 8-year-old child struck up a conversation with a chat room visitor, who they identified as 36-year-old Enrique Roberto Velez.
Velez said his girlfriend was out of town and that he was watching her 5-year-old son and a 1-year-old. He is also accused of having said that the decoy should meet him at a motel in Stafford, where they would both have sex with the children.
According to court documents, the defendant stated specific sex acts that he wanted to engage in with the 1-year-old baby he was bringing.
To show he was serious, investigators said he sent two photos of the 5-year-old, naked in the shower.
The documents state that Velez left the little boy asleep in his apartment and drove about 45-miles to a motel in Stafford, where he was met by police, who found the baby in his car.
Officers forced their way into Velez’ apartment in Kingwood, where they found the 5-year-old asleep.
Both children were unhurt.
Velez is being held in the Fort Bend County Jail without bail. He is being charged with sexual performance by a child, which is a second-degree felony.
