Fairfield Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI After Collision With Pedestrian

A Fairfield resident was arrested Saturday evening on suspicion of DUI after the vehicle the person was driving collided with a pedestrian, police said today. Fairfield police dispatchers received calls at 7:28 p.m. reporting the collision at North Texas and Oak streets in Fairfield. Officers responded and found a 48-year-old resident in the street suffering from multiple injuries. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to live. Officers arrested 78-year-old Fairfield resident Jerry Swearengin on suspicion of DUI.
