Sheriff’s Deputies Looking for Alleged Cupertino Bank Robber Caught on Camera

ID #16-372

Detectives are looking for a man who robbed a Cupertino bank Tuesday afternoon, a Santa Clara County sheriff’s spokesman said today. The suspect went inside a Wells Fargo bank at 23000 Homestead Road near the Foothill Plaza Shopping Center around 3 p.m., sheriff’s Sgt. James Jensen said.

The man handed a demand note to a bank teller, who handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Jensen. The man claimed he was armed, but no one in the bank saw a weapon, Jensen said. Investigators believe the suspect left the scene on foot, but don’t know what direction he was last seen heading.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 30s to early 40s who is about 6 feet tall and with a medium to heavy build, according to Jensen. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black coat, black bag and eyeglasses. Sheriff’s officials have released photos of the suspect.
