A 43-year-old man was sentenced to five years and four months in jail Thursday in a Sonoma County courtroom, in connection with possessing and selling drugs, according to prosecutors. Jose Flores-Garcia was convicted earlier this year, after having pled guilty to possessing methamphetamine and marijuana for sale, prosecutors said.
Flores-Garcia was arrested after Drug Enforcement Administration agents and sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at Flores-Garcia’s Santa Rosa home. There, authorities found about a pound of methamphetamine and over 100 pounds of marijuana, in addition to thousands of dollars in cash.
“Based on the sheer volume and concentration of the controlled substances in this defendant’s possession he was clearly engaged in the purchase and sale of drugs. This type of conduct has far-reaching negative consequences for our community and we are pleased the court imposed a significant prison sentence,” District Attorney Jill Ravitch said.
