San Mateo man wearing a white skeleton mask and brandishing an automatic handgun robbed a liquor store

A man wearing a white skeleton mask and brandishing an automatic handgun robbed a liquor store last week in San Mateo, police said. Officers responded at 1:40 a.m. Dec. 6 to the 400 block of South Norfolk Street and learned the armed man demanded money from the clerk. The clerk gave the man more than $300 cash, according to police. The suspect then ordered the clerk to lie on the floor while the suspect fled. Police are asking for the publics help identifying the suspect.

Detectives have followed up on leads and enhanced surveillance video without success so far. Police are describing the man as white, 6 feet tall, about 25 to 35 years old and about 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing the skeleton mask, black pants and a black jacket. The man may have driven away in a black or dark-colored Hyundai Genesis or a similar vehicle.
