Police said during a three-hour period on July 31, 24-year-old Briana Campbell was recorded on a home security camera throwing the child on a couch, smothering him with pillows, carrying him upside down by the ankles, and repeatedly striking him in the head and body. The child was examined by a pediatrician. He did not sustain any serious physical injuries. Campbell has been charged with nine counts of aggravated child abuse and two counts of aggravated child neglect. She is being held on a $250,000 bond. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, these are Campbell’s first charges. Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying other possible victims.
