Edmonton, Canada Police Constable Daniel Woodall was shot and killed and wounded Sgt. Jason Harley in ambush.
Both officers were approaching the house of a suspect in a hate crime to serve an arrest warrant on Norman Walter Raddatz when the Raddatz began shooting at them from his house with a high powered rifle. He fired more than 50 rounds, hitting both officers.
Responding officers surrounded the house but were pinned down by suspect’s gunfire.
Raddatz is believed to have died inside the home, which burned to the ground after the shooting.
Constable Daniel Woodall is survived by his wife and two small children.
