They hijacked at least 34 public buses, trucks and cars set on fire 11 banks and 16 gasoline stations were set on fire. 40 roadblocks were formed by the flaming vehicles, many of them in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, the country’s second-largest city.
A total of seven people, including the soldiers and police, were reported killed, and 15 people were arrested. The governor of the state declared a “red alert” and appealed for calm.
