Police say a man pulled a gun trying to rob a store, but ended up running when the owner opened fire on him. Video shows the wild shootout inside the store. (story continues below video)
Officers were called to City Gas on Sevier Avenue just after 11:00 p.m. on December 20.
Employees say the man pointed a gun at one of the clerk. When he tried going around the lottery machine to get to the cash register, the store owner pulled a handgun.
Police say the owner fired several shots as the suspect ran, hitting him at least once.
Witnesses say the suspect was driving a silver, older model Dodge Caravan with black rims and plastic in the back window.
He’s described as a black man about 5’10” and weighs around 170 pounds. Investigators say he was wearing a black ski mask and a navy blue hoodie with “A E 5” printed on the front.
Officers say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
