The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect in this surveillance video. According to detectives, a Family Dollar store manager was brutally assaulted during a robbery early Friday morning. (continued below video)

The assistant manager was opening up the security gate but the thief ran behind the manager and got in.
She was hit in the head multiple times, forced to open the safe. She was then dragged and thrown to the ground
The woman handed the cash over to the suspect, who took it and fled. She later quit.
A rash of Family Dollar stores in Detroit have been targeted recently when a man with assault rifle held it up.
Det. Frederick Person said that every time he hears about another Family Dollar robbed, he says “Here we go again.”
That suspect was later caught by police although many are wondering how stores in troubled areas can keep their employees safe.
