Officers Wednesday arrested a man suspected of burglarizing several homes throughout San Mateo County, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to a report at 11:09 a.m. of the suspect, identified as Kevin Michael Dolf, attempting to cash a fraudulent check at Chavez Supermarket in unincorporated Redwood City, sheriff’s spokesperson Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

Dolf fled to a nearby Jack in the Box restaurant when deputies arrived, but was quickly apprehended, according to Rosenblatt. Dolf was found in possession of stolen items traced back to residential burglaries that occurred throughout the sheriff’s office’s jurisdiction as well as in Atherton and Menlo Park, Rosenblatt said.

Deputies reached out to police agencies in those areas and found that a burglary in Menlo Park had been reported at 10:05 a.m., and that Dolf had the majority of the stolen items, according to Rosenblatt. Most of the items allegedly stolen by Dolf were recovered.
