Oakland Police Arrest Suspect In Fatal Shooting Of Xzavier Johnson

A man suspected of fatally shooting another man in Oakland on Saturday morning was arrested on Sunday, police said today.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire near High Street and Lyon Avenue near Brookdale Park at about 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, police said.

Police located the victim, identified as Xzavier Johnson, 26, of Stockton, near the intersection of 27th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, but he had already died when police arrived.

On Sunday, Oakland police arrested a 20-year-old Oakland resident in connection with the fatal shooting, police said.

The name of the suspect in the case has not been released pending review by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
