Police in Oakland are investigating a shooting that occurred just blocks away from the police department.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Broadway, near Fifth Street and less than two blocks from the police department, at about 1:35 a.m., police said.
The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.
No suspect information was immediately available.
