Police are investigating a fatal stabbing in downtown San Jose this morning. Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Santa Clara and First streets at about 1:20 a.m., San Jose police spokesman Officer Albert Morales said. When officers arrived, they located a male suffering from at least one stab wound, Morales said.
The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to Morales. Morales said a man has been arrested but the stabbing remains under investigation. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The homicide is the city’s sixth of the year.
