Benicia police arrested a San Francisco man for allegedly stalking a 19-year-old woman and breaking into her apartment through a skylight early this morning.

The girl’s father called police around 5 a.m. to report someone had broken into the apartment in the 600 block of First Street, and was sitting on the couch and refused to leave, police Lt. Frank Hartig said.

Police found 20-year-old Tai Aczon of San Francisco and arrested him for burglary and stalking, Hartig said. He was booked in the Solano County jail.

Aczon forced open the rooftop skylight to look for the 19-year-old daughter whom he knew since attending high school with her, Hartig said.

Police learned Aczon began texting and calling the woman more than 40 times since Christmas to profess his love for her, Hartig said.

The woman said she knew Aczon from high school and through mutual friends, but the two never dated, Hartig said. She said she asked Aczon numerous times to stop texting and calling her, but he refused to comply.

Aczon refused to speak to police when he was questioned, and neither the woman nor her father were injured or threatened during the incident, Hartig said.
