Police have identified the victim who died in a shooting that injured seven other people in Vallejo on Saturday night. Jose Rodriguez, 19, of Richmond was shot in a drive-by shooting at about 11 p.m. in the 200 block of Princeton Avenue, police Lt. Herman Robinson said.

Four of the seven people injured in the shooting remained in the hospital today and were last reported to be in critical but stable condition. Two were in intensive care units and two required surgery, Robinson said. A small memorial with blue balloons and candles has sprung up at the scene of the shooting in the last few days, Robinson said. The victims had been passengers in four cars headed to Vallejo for a party when one of the cars hit a curb and got a flat tire.

While they were pulled over changing the tire, a white SUV with tinted windows and a single shooter inside opened fire on the group, hitting eight people. Rodriguez was pronounced at the scene while four of the others were rushed to the hospital. The other three victims arrived at the hospital on their own, according to police. Police have not determined a motive for the shooting and have not located any suspects.
