A man is barricading himself inside his home in Santa Rosa this morning after firing shots at his wife and a locksmith who were trying to gain entry to his home late Wednesday night, according to police. At about 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a 911 call from a woman reporting that her husband had fired gunshots at her. Police arrived at the residence, located in the 3800 block of Sedgemoore Drive, near Rincon Ridge Park. According to police, the husband had locked the woman out of her house and she was trying to get back in with the assistance of a locksmith.
The 43-year-old husband shot at the woman and the locksmith as they attempted to gain entry into the home, police said. Nobody was hit by the gunfire, but bullets rounds from the firearm struck a nearby vehicle, according to police. Several homes nearby were evacuated and police believe the husband is still inside the residence. A SWAT team and a Hostage Negotiation Team are at the scene. Police are attempting to make contact with the man inside the residence. Police said they are hoping to resolve this incident peacefully.
