Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department Press Release 6/22/12

On June 17th, 2012 at 7:40pm, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Argonaut Place Shopping Center located on the 12000 block of Saratoga Sunnyvale Road in Saratoga, for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Deputies contacted a female victim at the scene who reported she had just exited her vehicle in the parking lot when Suspect (1) produced a black handgun and then took her backpack, containing several items. Suspect (1) went back to the other vehicle and fled the scene with suspect (2).

Deputies discovered the suspect’s vehicle was stolen out of the city of San Jose during a car-jacking incident the day before and was possibly used in another armed robbery at the Valley Fair Shopping Center parking lot in San Jose. Within a number of hours, Deputies were able to locate the stolen vehicle used in the Saratoga robbery. Deputies contacted two adult males inside the vehicle, who were later confirmed to be the outstanding suspects from the Saratoga robbery incident. Deputies located property inside the suspect’s vehicle belonging to the victim from the Saratoga robbery incident.

A black handgun used during the Saratoga robbery was also located.  It was later determined the handgun was in fact an Airsoft Pistol that had been modified to look like a handgun.

Both suspects, Mark Morasky 26, out of Saratoga, and Tawni Miser 23, out of San Jose, were arrested and booked into the Main Jail on suspicion of Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Possession of Stolen Property.
