A man suspected of illegally carrying a loaded gun and cocaine was arrested during traffic stop in unincorporated Santa Cruz County near Watsonville early Saturday morning, sheriff’s officials said. Deputies pulled over the 1988 Toyota truck near the intersection of Casserly and Wheelock roads at 12:27 a.m., according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies suspected the truck’s driver, identified as 38-year-old Watsonville resident Miki Macias, was under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested him.
Sheriff’s officials said Macias was searched and they found 0.8 grams of suspected cocaine in his pants pocket.Searching his vehicle, deputies found a loaded 9mm handgun and two loaded high capacity 9mm magazines. Macias also had several items of gang paraphernalia associated with the Hells Angels, sheriff’s officials said. Macias was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics,gun and gang charges.
