Antioch police have arrested five people in connection with a bar fight that left one man dead last month. At about 1:35 a.m. on March 31, officers responded to a report of a shooting at Cruisers Saloon at 1611 A Street, according to Antioch police. A group of men who had been kicked out of the bar earlier in the night returned to the bar with baseball bats with the intention of starting a fight, police said.

One of the men pulled out a handgun and opened fire inside the bar, police said. A bullet struck a man who was not involved in the altercation, 38-year-old Lizandro Bertolazzi, of Antioch, according to police. Bertolazzi died at the scene. Antioch police today announced that three men and two 17-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the attack.

The suspects are Giovanni Lopez, 26, Juan Peter Herrera, 22, both of Antioch, and Raymond Wehr, 22, of Pittsburg. Police said they believe all five suspects have gang affiliations. Police have not said which suspect they believe was the shooter, citing the ongoing investigation.
