* Newark alleged gang shooting Teen arrested ( cant say name could traumatized him )

A teenage boy was arrested in Newark early this morning, about 12 hours after allegedly shooting another teen in the city, a police sergeant said today.The shooting was reported at 3:27 p.m. in the 36600 block of Newark Newark police Sgt. Mike Carroll said.Officers responded and found a 14-year-old boy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his legs, Carroll said.

The boy was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, according to Carroll.Newark police worked with the Southern Alameda County Major Crimes Task Force in the investigation into the shooting, and learned that a 17-year-old boy was the suspect in the case. Authorities also learned the shooting was apparently gang-related, Carroll said.

The suspect, who attends Newark Memorial High School, was arrested at about 3:30 a.m. at a home on Tozier Street, Carroll said. His name is not being released because he is a minor.He was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide with a gang enhancement, Carroll said.
