One man and two teenage boys were arrested for allegedly shooting and attempting to kill another teenager in South San Jose Saturday night, a police spokesman said. Cristian Vargas Rivera, 18, of San Jose, allegedly shot a 17-year-old local boy near Coleman Road and Almaden Expressway at about 5:40 p.m., Officer Jose Garcia said. Two boys ages 16 and 17 were also involved in the shooting, which may have been gang related, Garcia said. Officers quickly responded to reports of the shooting and all three suspects were arrested by about 6 p.m., Garcia said. Rivera was booked into Santa Clara County Jail, where he faces charges of attempted murder. The teenage suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall and also face murder charges, according to police. The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not believed to be life threatening, Garcia said.
