Police responded to reports of shots being fired into an inhabited home in Gilroy Thursday night during what appears to have been a gang-related incident, police said. Residents in the 800 block of Monticelli Drive allegedly saw suspicious people walking and driving past a family’s home Thursday and brought it to the family’s attention, police said. When the suspicious party saw that they had been noticed, they left the area. Later that day, at around 8 p.m., one of the victims saw suspicious people walking past the home. The victim went inside to warn the family when the suspects fired shots into the home, police said. No one was injured, and the suspects fled before police arrived. The shots are being regarded as a gang-related crime, police said.
