* Ross Bracken arrested for alleged DUI crash on Bodega Avenue in Petaluma

Police arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and crashing his car at two different locations in Petaluma on Friday.The crash occurred around 11:05 a.m. in the 300 block of Bodega Avenue, according to police.A business owner reported the incident, telling police a drunk driver had pulled into his parking lot and collided into two metal poles, police officials said.

As officers were en route, the driver went back on Bodega Avenue and crossed into the oncoming eastbound lane. After going a short distance, he crossed back into the westbound lane and stopped in the lane before backing up in traffic and turning into the driveway of a home, where his vehicle struck a wooden fence, according to police.

Officers arrived to find the driver, a man identified as Ross Bracken, 46, of Petaluma, “extremely intoxicated” and unable to stand or walk on his own, according to police. His blood alcohol level was nearly five times the legal limit, police officials said.Bracken was taken to a hospital before being booked into Sonoma County jail.His driving record indicates he was convicted of DUI in 2004 and again in 2006, according to police.
