* Allen Collins killed on Market Street in Oakland

Two men were killed in separate shootings in Oakland and Hayward on Tuesday night, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau and police.The first homicide victim was slain in Oakland on Market Street near 26th Street at about 6 p.m., according to the coroner’s bureau. Police spokesman Jeff Thomason said officers responded to the 2500 block of Market Street at 5:56 p.m. to investigate a shooting and found a man who had been shot.The victim, 22-year-old Allen Collins, who police said was known to frequent the area, was transported to a hospital where he later died.A preliminary investigation turned up several leads, but as of 7 a.m. no arrests had been made in the case and the motive was still unclear, Thomason said.Anyone with information about the Oakland shooting is asked to contact homicide investigators at (510) 238-3821.In Hayward, a man was shot at about 11:40 p.m. in the area of Vanderbilt Street and Alquire Parkway, according to police, who said more information about the shooting would be released this morning.That victim’s identity was being withheld by the coroner’s bureau pending notification of next of kin.
