Vallejo police on Wednesday arrested a 15-year-old boy believed responsible for shooting an ice cream truck driver last week.
Officers from Vallejo police and the FBI went to an Oakland home in the 1100 block of 73rd Avenue on information that Peter Montenegro was at the address, police said. At around 7 p.m., Montenegro was seen leaving the home carrying suitcases and accompanied by three individuals, police said. The suspect was arrested without incident and booked into Alameda County Juvenile Hall for attempted murder and attempted robbery. Police believe Montenegro was responsible for the Feb. 3 shooting
of Amarjit Kaur, 39, of Vallejo, who was found wounded in the chest and slumped over the wheel of her ice cream truck in the area of Spring Road at Castlewood Drive around 2:40 p.m. Kaur survived the attack. Montenegro this morning was awaiting transfer to Solano County, police said.
