The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety arrested a Santa Rosa man Thursday on suspicion of sexually assaulting the mother of his child on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old victim told public safety officers Adrian Madrigal-Chavez, of Santa Rosa, assaulted her on a bed in her home while their infant child was present and threatened her if she reported the incident, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The victim reported the assault around 11 p.m. Wednesday and said she and Madrigal-Chavez were no longer in a relationship.
She was taken to a hospital where an exam verified the injuries from the assault, police said.
Detectives found Madrigal-Chavez driving on Airport Boulevard north of Santa Rosa around 12 p.m. Thursday and stopped his vehicle on southbound U.S. Highway 101 just north of Golf Course Drive in Rohnert Park.
Madrigal-Chavez was arrested without incident on suspicion of rape by force or fear, sodomy and child endangerment. He is being held on $125,000 bail in the Sonoma County Jail.
