John Ali Arrested for Alleged Robberies and Attempted Robbery in Fairfield

Fairfield police Tuesday arrested a suspect in two robberies and an attempted robbery at businesses since Aug. 9. John Ali, 42, of Fairfield, is suspected of robbing the Star Gas station in the 1300 block of North Texas Street in Fairfield at 2 p.m. on Aug. 9., the attempted robbery of a Subway sandwich shop in the 2100 block of North Texas Street at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25 and the robbery of the Flyers gas station at 200 Sunset Ave. in Suisun City on Tuesday, Officer Kathryn McCormick said.

The suspect in the crimes was described as a heavy-set mixed race, Hispanic and black male about 5 feet 4 inches tall.

Ali was contacted at his home and taken into custody without incident, McCormick said.
