Muniunmee Hendrix Arrested for Alleged Murder of Liquor Store Owner Hieu Ly in San Jose

On Monday, August 7, 2017 at approximately 10: 53 PM, officers responded to 2860 Quimby Road (Jim’s Liquors) on a report of a person injured.   Upon arrival, officers located the victim Hieu Ly on the floor suffering from a least one gunshot wound.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.  

The suspect, later identified as Muniunmee Hendrix, fled the scene and was not immediately located.  Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was shot as the suspect was attempting to commit an armed robbery of the liquor store.  After extensive follow up investigation by detectives from Homicide, Gang Investigations and Burglary, a suspect was identified.  

On Thursday, August 10, 2017, the suspect was located and arrested in the City of Merced by the San Jose Police Department’s Covert Response Unit without incident and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for homicide.
