San Francisco police say a juvenile arrested in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old boy in the Bayview District this weekend may also be linked to another shooting from earlier this month. Marshawn Byrd, a San Francisco resident, was found lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds around 3:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of Palou Avenue on Saturday, following a report of a shooting.

He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police arrested a 17-year-old male suspect in connection with the homicide on Tuesday in the 1500 block of Geneva Avenue. The suspect, a San Francisco resident, has since been identified as the suspect in another shooting that occurred on July 10 in the 1400 block of Innes Street.

A 32-year-old San Francisco resident suffered gunshot wounds in that case, but survived his injuries. The suspect, whose identity has not been released due to his age, has been booked into the Juvenile Justice Center on charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with the two shootings. Anyone with information on either case is asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text to TIP411 and begin the text message with “SFPD.” Tipsters may remain anonymous.
