A man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of numerous offenses after he allegedly stalked a female victim in Emeryville and led authorities on a vehicle pursuit, police said.
According to Emeryville police, at 2:30 p.m. a female resident of Emeryville reported a temporary restraining violation. Later in the evening she called Emeryville police to report that the offender was parked outside her home. An officer arrived and saw the suspect, an adult male, driving away. The officer tried to pull him over, but the he did not yield. The suspect entered Interstate Highway 80, at which point the California Highway Patrol was notified.
A pursuit ensued, but ended when authorities stopped following the suspect near Sycamore Avenue in Hercules. The suspect drove on toward Brentwood where he was pursued by Brentwood police.
Spike strips were deployed and the suspect continued to his home where he was arrested, police said. The suspect was transferred to the custody of the Emeryville Police Department and booked into the Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of stalking, evading arrest, committing a crime while on bail, and violating a court order, police said.
