Man Suspected of Looking for Cars to Break into Arrested at BART Station

Officers arrested a man Friday night who appeared to be biking around the Pleasant Hill BART station parking lot looking for cars to break into, according to BART police officials.

Just before midnight Friday, officers spotted a man cruising around on his bicycle in the parking garage. He was wearing rubber gloves and was allegedly in possession of burglary tools and methamphetamine, according to police.

Officers discovered that the man, whose name was not released, was on probation and had two $25,000 warrants for burglary and a $100,000 warrant for transporting drugs, police said.

After checking the parking lot, officers found a car with its window smashed and the interior ransacked, but the owner said nothing was taken. The suspect was arrested for the warrants, a probation violation and on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and burglary tools.
